Robert Lark

Business owner/director

  • Bachelor Business
  • Cert 3 Landscape construction (obtained license 2008)
  • Cert 3 Irrigation

Rob originally formed RTL landscapes in 2006. With the introduction of Tom and a range of new employees it was decided to set up a Central Oak Gardens in 2006. Rob’s focus as founder of the company is on ensuring that every landscape job is completed to the highest standards. This is achieved by leading a team of young, dynamic and well-qualified landscapers and gardeners, all of whom trained at the premier horticultural institution in Sydney, Ryde Tafe. As a member of the industry- recognised landscape association, the LNA, Rob and his team have access to the latest training and landscaping ideas, as well as new designs and concepts. In this way they are proud to be able to cater for everything from the smallest, tailor-made garden design or maintenance project, right up to exciting, new and spacious, landscaping projects.

Tom Freeman

Director

  • Bachelor Visual Communication
  • Garden Design Fundamental Certificate
  • Maintenance Manager
  • Certificate 2 Arboriculture

Tom’s interest in gardens started at home, where he learnt to hedge and other basic skills of the garden. After completing his Bachelor of Visual Communication degree he once again found himself back in the garden. This is where he met Rob Lark and that led him to becoming a co-director of Central Oak Landscapes. Toms’ areas of expertise include garden maintenance, garden design, consultations and arboriculture. He has studied at Ryde TAFE in both garden design fundamentals and arboriculture.

The most satisfying part about working in this industry is completing a job from start to finish, knowing that you have achieved what the client has asked of you and then reflecting on the great work that you have just done… Oh and working outside in the sun!

Matt Wyer

Landscaping Manager

Memories of having to Rake the Autumn leaves which would fall in my front yard, then mowing the lawns and edges at home growing up gave me a sense of satisfaction… and what beats working outside?  These factors encouraged me to pursue my love of landscaping and nature. I have been involved in large scale maintenance contracts down to units and homes. I am currently finishing off my Certificate 3 in Landscape construction. I have a real love of hedges and nice crisp  edges. The more you love your garden, the more love it returns to you. I treat client gardens as my own and get great satisfaction from seeing the gardens grow and transform.

Tim Veenings

Contract Program and Project Administrator

I am a hardworking and determined young male from The Netherlands. I am an ambitious person who loves new challenges. I have experience in several different types of work including planning and undertaking administration of contracts, organisational programs, special projects and support services, sales, marketing, purchasing, mechanics and directing people. When it comes to work I am professional but am also a very easy going person and my positive attitude will always make my customers feel happy.

I’ll never forget one of the most intriguing statements I’ve heard while working in this industry: “Landscaping is like walking onto a blank canvas, yet instead of paint, you use stone or plants to make your masterpiece to come to life. Not only for you, but for every client you visit.”

Ben Crumpton

Landscaping Assistant

  • Studying BA Mechatronic Engineering

Ben takes pride in his work and enjoys delivering an immaculate end result which strives to surpass the expectation of the client. These qualities, combined with his enjoyment of working outdoors and ability to work constructively in team environments, have naturally drawn him to work in Landscaping. Ben began a degree in Mechatronic Engineering at the University of New South Wales in 2013 and is currently continuing with his studies while working for Central Oak Gardens. Ben has previously worked as a tutor teaching High School Mathematics. He has also worked as an athletics coach, specialising in both High Jump and Sprinting. Although you will often find Ben with his head in some textbooks, he enjoys getting time out in the sun whenever possible and finds that working at Central Oak Gardens is a great way to have a balanced lifestyle.
